QELJ welcomes legitimate concerns regarding editorial procedures, peer review, publication ethics, journal policies, or published content.

EDITORIAL APPEALS

Authors may appeal an editorial decision where they believe a significant factual misunderstanding, procedural error, or demonstrable evaluation error materially affected the decision.

An appeal must:

• identify the manuscript;
• identify the decision being appealed;
• explain the specific factual or procedural grounds; and
• provide relevant supporting evidence.

An appeal is not simply an additional round of peer review.

Where reasonably possible, appeals are considered by an editor who was not responsible for the original decision.

COMPLAINTS

Complaints regarding journal conduct, editors, reviewers, policies, procedures, or published content should contain sufficient information to permit investigation.

Complaints involving the Editor-in-Chief may be referred to an appropriate independent senior editor or publisher representative who was not directly involved in the matter.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND FAIRNESS

Complaints and appeals are handled fairly, respectfully, and as confidentially as reasonably possible.

No individual will be disadvantaged for raising a legitimate concern in good faith.
